My Language. My Right.

Welcome to Mytonguemyright– “Every Language Matters”

Every language is a world of its own — a unique lens through which people understand medicine, culture, peacebuilding, ecology, and more. At MTMR, we believe that every language is a vital thread in the fabric of our shared humanity. When a language disappears, we lose more than words; we lose knowledge, wisdom, and ways of seeing that may hold the key to healing our planet and one another.

Today, thousands of languages are at risk of vanishing. Each one carries irreplaceable insight — from plant-based healing practices passed down for centuries, to conflict resolution traditions rooted in community care, to ecological knowledge finely tuned to specific landscapes. Language shapes how we care for the Earth and each other.

Our mission is to shine a light on these endangered languages through powerful, short videos that celebrate their beauty, complexity, and resilience. Every voice deserves to be heard, and every person has the right to speak their mother tongue.

We’re proud to support and partner with organizations like Wikitongues.org, who are empowering language communities around the world to reclaim, preserve, and pass on their linguistic heritage.

Explore. Listen. Share. Because saving a language helps save a way of life — and that affects us all.Help us share more stories by becoming a patron.

Supporting language activists by amplifying their stories.

MTMR

When a language dies, we lose centuries of wisdom about medicine, ecology, peace-making, and human connection.

Why We Exist

Languages are more than words; they are living encyclopedias. From the Arctic tundra to tropical rainforests, communities carry cures, sustainable farming methods, and conflict-resolution practices encoded in their mother tongues. When those tongues fall silent, irreplaceable knowledge vanishes with them.

Reclaiming Wisdom

MTMR amplifies endangered voices so communities can reclaim and revitalise their linguistic heritage.

The Crisis – “What’s at Stake”

Each lost language is a library burnt—ritual songs no longer sung, medicinal plant names forgotten, oral histories erased. The cultural silence that follows weakens community identity and deprives humanity of holistic solutions to today’s global challenges.

What community say

“I’m so glad that there’s an effort to tell the world that we exist and that we have something to say.”

Milagros Tagalog Minority Dialect speaker

“I found out there were other language activist through the work of MTMR and discovering Wikitongues.org. It feels good to know we’re not alone in this effort to keep diverse voices alive.”

Amastan Amazigh Speaker

“We have a lot to share with the world and knowing that people are curious, encourages us to keep our language alive.”

Suvalkha Ingush Youth Leader

“Why do we care about famous people??!! I don’t know the answer to that. But knowing what language someone speaks is an intimate part of understanding who they are. Now I’m curious about some of the languages you highlight and I want to donate some of my paycheck to wikitongues.org.”
